Narex Richter Chisel With Long Handle ¼" (6mm)
Cryogenic treatment
Immediately after the initial hardening, cryogenic treatment cools the steel down to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen down to -190°C. This completes the austenite transformation, which increases both the hardness and toughness of the steel.
Named after Narex founder, Mr. Václav Richter, these chisels represent our highest quality manufacturing processes combined with unique materials, heat treatment and machining to produce a joinery tool of the highest quality. Each chisel is marked with the trademark RICHTER EXTRA.
Blade
- forged from high quality Cr-V steel
- cryogenically treated and tempered to at least 62 HRc
- finely ground and polished
- super-thin sides making it easier to work in tight spaces
Handle
- domestic hard ash wood
- ground and hand polished
- solid stainless steel scabbard
- leather pad for shock absorption
- longer handle improves hand feel during finishing operations
